Also if your hearing poping noise when you are turning, there is a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) from Mitsubishi for your steering rack. i had the same problem every time i turned i heard a popping sound. and after i got the rack replaced it stopped.

No can't say that it did. Does it make that noise consistantly or does it just kinda have a mind of its own?

I had my transfer case go on me, and driving straight down the road it would make a popping sound everyonce in a while and feel like the car hesitated or skipped , and when it turned a certain way it made the sound worse. when I took my tc out and pulled the diff. I had one whole gear in my diff shattered and not where it was supposed to be, which chewed up all the other gears. when you change your fluid, look for metal and chunks, that is what came out of mine when I drained the fluid. I sent it to Shepherd and had them rebuild it

Check Sheps site, there are different stages of rebuilds to choose from. Jon at TRE is a good choice as well.

If it gets louder with speed and whines even out of gear, than it's the TC.
