Damaged engine?
While doing hot laps yesterday, I went from 5th to 2nd ( by mistake ) while going at 130mph. No need to say what happened, but now the motor has a clinking noise. I bet is is a rod or a ring, but I am not sure. Now that I will open the motor to fix it, what do you guys recomend.... a stage 3 short block from buschur ( or other manufacturer ), or a stroker. I race the car only once a month and our track is a fast one with long straights and very fast sweeping turns. My actual setup is, FP Green, Buschur intercooler, 880 cc injectors, GSC S2 cams, injen upper and lower ic pipes, and injen intake.

thanks for the input. I am considering the stroker. I have talked to vivid racing and AMS. Which do you think will deliver the best stroker? AMS has a 2.3RR that is supposed to be the ultimate stroker motor but it is terribly expensive. They also have a normal 2.3 that is decently priced. What do you think?

Hey Mitch,
Thanks for the help. Yes, I am thinking on the 2.3. I would like to talk to you later during the day. Where can I call you?

Go with a built 2.0L and built head. This way if you miss a shift again, the higher rev potential of the 2.0L may save you another rebuild. I would go AMS for road racing, BR for drag setup. Thats just me though. AMS has quite a rep in the TA area. Both shops will provide a reliable setup without a doubt. The extra torque from a 2.3 can be gained from more mods/tune to a 2.0L. Unless you feel like dropping for a 2.3RR.
I just like the revs myself. Before anyone accuses me of being a fan boy I want it known I have many BR parts on my car and a full set of BR spec JE pistons for my next build.

Just for everyone to know. What messed up my motor were the crank bearings. They just moved out of place and ended one on top of the other. Anyway, I will go ahead and do a 2.3 stroker.
Thanks to everyone for the input.

Do something like a 2.3 if you can with a FP Red for that fast spool up or maybe just do a fully built 2.0 with the Red too, it will spool up fast still man
I don't think you can go wrong with a FP Red Turbo and Tracking and DD the car man
