bad bov?

i recently bought an ix bov to replace my plastic stock viii bov. with the ix i get a rough idle at times like when i am going up the drive way if i give it gas and then push the clutch in right after it will either idle really bad or stall out or when im going slow in neighborhoods and put it in neutral when slowing down coming to a stop sign it will also give me a rough idle. i put the viii bov back in and none of these problems occured and now the ix is back in again and the bad idling at times is back again. anyone ever have this problem? could it be leaky bov? your help would be appreciated thanks.
