Shep has a lot of good work out there, I sent my tranny off to him and within 5k miles 1st 3rd and Rev were gone... I had a triple plate which was said to cause that though. Overall I was happy with Shep but I decided to go to Jack this time since he is local.

I have dealt with shep in the past. His service is great, and the trans have held up to a lot of abuse.

On the other side. I have emailed TRE several times about questions I have and prices for the work. They never responded to anything I sent.

Thanks for all the response. I might just stick with Sheps since that's the most everyone recommends. Not really trying to end up with grinding gears again.

I just had mine rebuilt by shep 2700 miles ago(3 months), i have a 9 did the 3/4 gear conversion he basically wont let u have it back with out it. his point is good for doing it. he can explain it. plus doing the double syncro 5th and isf coat ur gears and rails. well worth it. best 1500 i spent. plus it took 4 days from east pa frieght for him to get it. about 2 weeks 2 days turn aorund 4 days return frieght. but the turn around in shop is about 2-3 weeks pending on how many they are working on.

Tell me how your tranny holds up. You got a 6 speed too right? Just to let everyone know i got a 6 speed so i dont think it will be the same getting a 3rd and 4th gear conversion?...

I am debating do both the rear diff and tranny someone before next year. Figure I'll give both jobs to the same shop. Nothing is wrong with the car, just want a better setup (rear lock diff and better gearing) for track stuff.

I have emailed Jon @ TRE a few times and gotten some good information back. I haven't contacted Shep yet, but I do plan to.

I've herd too many bad things about TRE, not just through members but Venders. Ask TTP what they think of TRE. But imo i going with Shep, know a couple guys that use them around here. And if i'm shipping a trans accross the border, i want to be damn sure it's going to hold up.
