What could it be?
Last night my car started sputtering under boost...i automatically assumed it was my spark plugs. Well this morning i changed out my plugs; which didnt look that great. I installed the new BPR 7ES's and took it for a quick run to see if it was still going to sputter. Well at about 10psi it started doing it again. Could it be a boost leak? It literally just started doing this out of nowhere and i didnt hit anything or even do any really hard driving. Im almost wondering if it isnt something in my gas becasue I had to put 87octane in because I couldnt make it anywhere else(my fault, wasnt paying attention), so I also threw in some octane booster. I will check for a boost leak tomorrow morning and hope that that is it. Does anyone have any ideas? I appreciate the help.
Well the fuel definitely wasnt the problem...ill try boost leak testing it in the morning...if that isnt it then maybe ill try changing the fuel pump and filter with a spare new one i have sitting here.
Could be your coils going bad on you. Also you want to make sure you put your coil packs on tightly. I forgot to push down completely on them once and was experiencing this exact same thing. Lastly it could be your spark plug gap. Don't know what sort of mods you've done to your car, but I'd try gapping them to 24 or 22 and see if that helps. Personally I think you forgot to push down your coil packs all the way. Good luck.
nice ok ill check but i double checked when i reinstalled them...also im running 330awhp and i gapped it at .025...so i guess it couldnt hurt it to tighten that up a bit...also when i logged it earlier the only code that was available was a misfire in cylinder 1 so i think the coil packs are fine...and for some weird reason its idoling at 1900-2000rpms now after i dumped the 87 and put in high octane...weird...ill keep checking stuff, ill update tomorrow morning with a result on the boost leak test...thanks for everyones help!
Also check the gap on your new plugs... Ive seen them come out of the box at .035 on ngk plugs... gap them down to like .025 or so and see if it make a difference. It might not be the problem, but it is an easy check......

haha i drove it this morning cuz i was going to head to the shop and check for boost leaks and it drove fine! wtf...it must have been the fuel after all! I just needed to force the rest of that crap through the lines! However my idle is at 2000rpms now for some reason haha...lets see what else can go weirdly wrong!
