right- i noticed that. seems like sorta odd branding on the part of ralliart- these guys do business as ralliart uk:

http://www.xtreme-uk.net

but have a clearly different product line than the ralliart we know and love elsewhere:

http://www.ralliart.co.jp/home.html

... that exhaust being one of the clear differences. interesting.

so i guess we're both right, in a way, at least- that h&s setup on the lancersport site *is* a ralliart exhaust in the UK. but it's not the ralliart exhaust in japan, or as imported by most of our US importers from japan. odd.

check out the x-cars sections at xtreme- some incredibly cool rides. i like the setup on their stroker kit, too.

hey limey- you don't happen to have a sound clip of your dad's car, do you? i'm still dying to hear that exhaust on an evo. it's my favorite system by far on subarus....

Hey guys,

Yea looking at the two sites again I guess you are right. The exhuast I bought was part of the Ralliart Stage I&II kits for the EVO 7. It was purchased prior to the Extreme UK / Ralliart falling out. As you probably know about. So that may explain the use of the H&S exhaust now for exhuasts, HKS for intakes, etc. etc on all of the vehicles and tuning kits available on the extreme site.... So I guess H&S may not have made the exhuast that I have on my car. Though I could have swore that the coordsport folks said that is who the manufacture was. Regardless, the Ralliart system is very nice. I would like to see how this H&S system stacks up to it in terms of fit and sound. Best of luck everyone...

You are correct sir....it is evident when you go to xtreme that all affiliation with ralliart has been cleared out...but they still know what works...Toney *** still works there.. he headed up the Mitsubishi rally teams for years...

I've done a few sound clips of the Hayward & Scott exhaust (no cat, single rear muffler) on my Evo VII with the XT 330 kit which takes hp to 330 - stationery and passing by.

lovely!

god DAMN it, what a beautiful sound. much closer to the scooby sound than i expected, considering the different engine layout. that telltale scoobysport note is really clear there. i'm in heaven.

thanks for your input, guys, you just sold me. now i just gotta find out about that damn group buy....

To be honest I could care less about a scooby sound but I have to agree with you this exhaust sounds great! Leave it to the Brits to design an exhaust which sounds like a classic sports car.

Group buy status?

Hi , there seems to be a bit of confusion here we designed and built the works rally exhaust ( working along side Toney *** )for Ralliart UK for 12 years, while using that experience on the Evo 6 road car making it one of the best all round performance exhausts on the market.A short period followed before we then contacted again by Toney *** who now works for Co-ord sport / Ralliart about the Evo6 road exhaust he had heard so much about and could we wave our magic wand over the Evo 7.In the mean time the Ralliart name was sold for what ever the reason and Extreme was born.
So in short we make the exhausts for Extreme and not Ralliart Japan.
Hope this helps.

Forgot to mention that Ken has just sent the first complete EVo 8 system to his customer and has made us aware of a group buy pending, so we can prepare and make some exhaust for stock

Thanks Ian for jumping in.

I should be able to receive the prototype from Ken @ Rallyperformance next Thursday/Friday and the group buy will be ready to go as soon as we can confirm the fitment on our USDM EVO.

I'll be hosting the group buy for Rallyperformance. You can either PM or email me at: SilverAP1@yahoo.com if any of you have any question for the Hayward & Scott exhaust.

Cheers

When you get your hands on the system could I ask you to post a few pictures which may be out of the norm?

Basically I would like to see a shot down the barrel of the muffler such that we can see the construction (e.g. punched holes vs. intrusions which block flow). Also a shot which shows the amount of intrusion of the welds into the pipe would be great (e.g. people grind off the outside of the welds, but a quality weld doesn't have a great deal of intrusion into the pipe blocking flow).

Another question which someone could answer is what is the construction of the muffler (back box)? What is the packing in the muffler (e.g. stainless / fiberglass / both)?

No prob, will do that as soon as I get them.

Don't know if you've saw them or not but check out the 2 pics posted by Defector (thanx Defector btw) on this thread:

I believe the muffler is made from 304 stainless steel as if it was the same as the Scoobysport system I had on my WRX. (Ian, feel free to jump in anytime!)
