evo engine with cam compression ?
Hi guys?
My friend want to purchase a used evo 8 with buddy club cams 264/272. However after performing a compression test by mitsu dealership;
the dry test show cyl 1 @ 115, cyl 2@ 125, cyl 3@ 105, cyl 4@ 125
Wet test # 133, 140, 125, 140.
The car has been flashed,running stock turbo, 255lph fuel pump, stock cam sprockets.
My question is, since factory spec engine compression is @ 163, is this engine in bad shape? Bottom line, is this evo worth purchasing?

it sounds like bad rings, when doing a wet test the rings get oil on them and that makes a better seal causing the compression to go up. i had hks cams in my car and still had 165 across as well.
