fp red or 35r

okay so i ordered an fp red but now im thinking i want the 35r cause its cheaper but if i get more mods it will be better. what should i do.?? i have tbe, fmic, meth, cams intake, and fuel pump. And i was gonna get a tubular mani, 02 dump, injectors, wastegate, headstuds, and intercooler piping. if i change my mind to the 35r is the anything else that i would really need to get the most and best use out of the turbo? thanks for your help

What is your end power result you would like to go for?
If you want a 35R I have a ATP Garrett GT35R kit I may be willing to trade for a FP Red. I am wanting to down size since I really don't need the 35R for what I want to accomplish. PM Me if you are interested..

IMO i like the red if your on a stock block. The red is an awsome turbo for the streets and handles power well on the stock 2.0L

a 35r on a stock 2.0L is just going to be laggy and not fun at all, ive driven one with a very very good tune, and the car just didnt make any power until like 4500-5000 rpms+

stay with the red and get the tubular mani, meth and some intercooler piping and tune thatt girl, you will not be upset at all

and FYI if you read some of the FP Red vs 35r threads, the red is making power similar to a 35r but with no wheres near the same turbo lag, just something to keep in mind.

goodluck

To the OP: Stick with the red if you can suffice with 450awhp on pump gas with full mods.. or 500+ with e85, race gas, or pump +meth.. This is with a full mod list though.. and good supporting parts.. The red spools similar to a 30r ..

and do not trade for an ATP kit

Stick with the red for daily. I loved my RED set up. Car ran as good as stock and still went 9.5. There is a ton of room for improvement on the red as you desire more power and get the supporting mods. The RED is hard to beat in my opinion...

How is the low end response compared to a stock turbo though? Like I've never seen any street pulls or any pulls for that matter from like 2k-2.5k rpm.

if your asking yourself if you want a red or 35r in the first place then you should get a 35r. if you get the red then you will just be wanted more power later anyway and be switching to the 35r

See, im having the same dilemma... Neither turbo will spool up like a stock 9, white/green. On my 9 turbo now, with e85 in the tank, if i hit it at 2k.rpm in 2ND gear, im sideways at 28-30psi by 3800rpm. I have the motor to make 600+whp, Im not sure how much lag i want.

Its just so slightly slower than a stock turbo. When you are daily driving and not going close to WOT it feels incredibly stock with full mods. It gets you around town with ease.

When you go high boost and high RPM's its like an entirely different turbo... The red is an incredible turbo! Its the ultimate daily driver turbo with great expandability!

Fp red is nice, but it will never beat the topend of a 35r
