Thumbs down Is this true..

...that you aren't suppose to downshift in a turbo car aka my Evo VIII. None of my friends have Evo's... none of them own a turbo car... yet they all insist I shouldn't downshift or rev match in my Evo for some non-apparent reason. I find it very daunting and unpractical to throw it in neutral and slam on the brakes. I'll be changing my pads every month if that's the case, the way I drive. Just wanted to validate this and tell them that they're wrong.. if they are that is. Thanks.

Your friend has an interesting imagination... You can downshift the car all day... Rev match if you want the clutch to last.

Cheers!

Your not supposed to put your car into neutral when you come to a stop.
When you are taking you licence exam you must down shift. You automaticaly fail if you put your car into neutral when your at an intersection or coming to an intersection. Your car must be in gear. (At least in canada you do). I know some one that failed there licence exam because of this.

I knew it.. but I had no solid proof or any actual explanation. They know their sh** I can't deny that.. but they all drive highly modded n/a Honda's and evidentally don't know too much about turbo charged motors. Can't wait to tell them they're wrong. They won't go with what I say unless I tell them like a certified Mitsu tech told me this so yeaaah

@RedDragon
Trust me I'm well aware of this which is why I found it so hard to believe, even coming from them who I've always taken advice from in the past. I'm not new to driving manual transmission cars I just know the Evo is a whole other realm compared to my previous cars so I just wanted to make sure.

NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
Please don't get a Honda!! :X If you get one, AT LEAST don't mod it like those niggehs do! MY GAWD!!! A honda is a gas saver, not to turbo charge and/or try to get 300whp in a NA motor....MY GAWD!

Glad you have an evo!
If you got a STy, still cool, at least you with the AWD Fam Bam!

It took me a while to get over the s2k's 9k redline and sexy interior. But when I did... well the rest is history.

WOW. Another Honda hater....spell check is your friend. You just made my 'brian' hurt...

I rev match all the time....my original clutch is at 50k and still pulling strong...and it is safer to downshift than to put in into neutral .

Rev matching - Heel toe since the day I got her. 94K miles later still runs like new...
