Snatch

My stock Evo 9 definitely snatches a bit when transitioning from on to off throttle. It reminds me a little of some fuel injected motorcycles. This is a little unnerving when diving into corners a little hot on snow when you want every attitude adjustment to be linear. I've never driven another evo, mine has >10k miles and has never been modified. Runs perfectly otherwise. Can this be reduced with tuning? Could this be a sign of vacuum leak or other mechanical problem? Thanks in advance.
Define "******" When you say on and off the throttle, do you mean when you let off it will shrug forward? The car can be touchy I guess but I think it just may take a bit more feel. You could also flash your ecu and that could potentially give you a more linear smooth power curve your looking for.
Pay real close attention next time you drive it. Let completely off the throttle, then depress the pedal. Does it feel like it's sticking a little as soon as you press the pedal?
No, the throttle is not sticking. No, I don't think it is my technique, I have driven many fast vehicles in anger. The greatest ****** is when at over 4k rpm, 3/4 to full throttle, lift off, then no matter how slight the reapplication of throttle it lurches. When cornering at the limit this upsets the car enough to induce oversteer.

****** is when the ecu stops fuel flow when the throttle is closed then resumes flow abruptly when throttle is reapplied causing a burp of unintended acceleration. google "fuel injection ******".
BBC, I'm sorry, I misread your first post. I know exactly what your talking about. My car does the same thing and it's quite annoying, esp when when you're not fully lifting off, but just backing off the throttle a little and it becomes jerky.
******, jerky.... we sound like a bunch of 13 year old kids.
