Q- Yeah injector partially failed. I am sure it was something like 13.5 or leaner at 34psi, looks kinda like a marshmellow to me

Bryan and I were very thorough in our write up of how to do it, the maps we used, and anyone that can read knock in a log should be able to replicate it. Of course there are always some tricks, some parts that help, some people that helped me formulate my concept (Mark S), and then guided me through it. I cant take credit for it other than I didnt care what happened to my engine as long as I reached my goal succesfully. That part is self destructive but it all worked I guess so no harm no foul.

Correct. There is just so much here that people don't comprehend that it almost belongs in the newbie section.

My Defi BF is off by 2 psi as well. Your probably running 25-26psi. No worries if you have a good tuner.

CBRD has ran 30psi with a BBK. It's all in the tune

we have a 29psi, 70,000 mile evo ix in house..

I agree with the "its a built motor it can take it" comment... but... things like ported heads, intake and exhaust work.. etc... allow for more efficient packaging at higher boost pressures etc....

and for one thing 28psi on a stock turbo isnt the same as 28psi on a 35R etc......

It also depends how aggressive of a tune youre looking for... 28 pounds is pushing it on pump gas no matter how you look at it unless you guys have some miracle pump. If youre looking for max power then you have it, if you don't really care to sacrifice a few ponies like most people for added safety then I would have it looked at again.

Cheers!

I think some people lose sight of what's important and fixate on a boost number. Keep in mind that on 93 octane 30psi doesn't make sense for every combination. On a small turbo it's going to pumping air hotter than the seventh layer of hell which might be acceptable for a short dyno blast but may not be ideal for the road course or even autox.

hm..i have defi gauge and hks evc as well. On cold weather, it occasionally boost creeps to 1.8bar-1.9bar (26.5psi-28psi)at very high rpm. But my evc reads 178 kpa.(1.78bar=26psi)
I just turned it down a bit to be 100% safe. now i'm at 1.3bar at peak and 1.6-1.7bar at top.
