Need help finding out why my car stays in open loop???

I just recently finished my 2.0 build and have a problem. I started the car the other day and noticed that my car would not go into close loop. Its the weirdest thing ever. When trying to idle the car at 1k my afr is at 10-11 and when i give it gas and hold it at 3k it goes to 14.5-14.7 and also goes into close loop. Any Suggestions on what could be wrong
Could it be a vacuum line has been crossed, boost leak, etc???

Are you throwing any check engine lights? Is your coolant temp gauge warming up to where it should be? Have you changed anything and it started happening after or did it just start happening out of the blue?

This should probably be moved to the "ECUFlash" forum.

This car is the recipient of a recent engine swap. There were some lingering minor issues to be resolved with the car (hose clamps tightened, exhaust leaks, etc.), so that is ongoing. In the interim, I offered to assist the owner with getting a base tune in order for his ECU, given his upgrade to a 35R and FIC 1250s.

I suspect an injector and/or injector scaling issue may be an aggravating factor, although I have the very same injectors in my car, and my base scaling and latency will not work in his car. Interestingly enough, the only thing that works (poorly) is scaling the injectors at "1450". The car will start with some effort, and will run cleanly at a standstill in closed loop above 1000rpm (car is still on jackstands) when sufficient ECT is reached. When the engine is encouraged to idle however, it jumps into open loop, the wideband displays very rich AFR, and it dies. The SFTS logged during close loop don't show anything excessive (e.g. <10%) despite the wacky injector scaling. The only CEL is a complaint about the deactivated aux O2 sensor. The car didn't take well to the latest 'Tephra' base map for my car (both '03s), so we left the factory map mostly intact for the time being, with the exception of the injector scaling and latency.

No one can vouch for the integrity of the vacuum line routing and such, so I've tasked the OP to verify that with a friend's EVO and conduct a forum search on open/closed loop switching issues in the meantime.

Ideally, once all is verifiably correct, I'd like to install a set of factory injectors to troubleshoot any weirdness there.

Thats the info we needed. Like ted suggested I would throw the stock injectors in with the stock scalings and see if the problem persists. Are you on the stock maf still? What intake setup are you running? I had problems with my 35r and my old intake setup.
