HKS cams vs JUN cams

I have a couple of questions I was hopign I could get answered.

1: Which cam's are more streetable?

2: Are the JUN cam's worth the extra $$$? I got quoted $1400 for JUN 264/264 cam's with Titanium Retainers etc. And $500 for the HKS cam's which I was told would not require the Ti retainers etc.

But, I can afford to buy the JUN cam's, it will just mean that getting a bigger turbo will be delayed a month or so... But, are they really worth the extra money? And will my car be streetable with them?

(Just to be clear my EVO is my daily driver, I drive it to class and back and to work and back every day (~50 Miles))

Thanks in advance!

i am sure that Adam from Z1 can give you a better answer but i will do my best. i know that Al used both HKS and JUN cams in his 500hp EVO and he said that the JUN cams are NOT easy for the street.in fact, he took them out and put the HKS ones back in and he said that there was no differenece in power between the 2 but the HKS ones were much easier to live with.

hope this helps

from what i know Al put jun 272's back in. jun 272's are not designed for a daily driver, racing only.
I have 264's and im happy with them, Im using stock springs and retainers, at least for now.

i heard the same thing about Al putting his JUN back in but keep in mind that his setup is much more advanced and complex than most of the others out there. like i said before, your best bet would be to call Adam or maybe AMS and see if they can help you out.

BTW,

if you do want to get the JUN 264, than your best bet will be to talk to Maki. he is a JUN vendor and can get you great deals on JUN stuff.

I put the jun 272 in - had bad idle - took then back out

Was planning to race ESX needed more power - put them back in - made sicko mad power on top - BROKE and intake valve guide

Going back to hks 272

BUT - just got a set of JUN 264's which I will be dyno testing in comparision to the hks 272

I will post up some info here soon on what I see

JUN 272's dont idle to well, so I know JUN mechanics can make them idle perfectly but those are definatelly not cams for a daily driver. Full race specs.
264's is what 99% of my clients order, thats what i have and no idle problems and good power increase. 272's are a special order from now on.

I have read on JUN home page about 264's solid cams that :"When this cam shaft is used,it is needed solid processing of the rocker arm pivot " What does it mean?
