Question about lowering compression
Question about lowering compression
Recently got my car dynoed and tuned with the mods in my sig and got 373whp/340tq during the process the car started to smoke atlittle and we found that i have some worn piston rings in cylinder 2. So the motor is currently out and im going to rebuild with the 2.3l. the shop has already ordered my parts and they went with 8:1cr, i have a evo 9 by the way. I was wondering is this a good choice considering i will be upgrading the turbo to the atp 35r. How many of you out there have lowered compression on the 9 motors, and do you have any good or bad input

I would recomend around 9-1 but 8.5-1 would be ok, But this is based on the fuel quality you run.

i also thought that 8:5:1 would be ok here in va we only have 93 so i run that with denatured alky, i love the way the car felt after it was tuned. Im thinking i want to stick with the stock 9 turbo but my shop said it would be a waste to do the 2.3l and run the stock turbo. Im no where near use to driving a 400whp car so im not going to act like i am but would a 35r/with a 63ar hotside be over kill for what im looking for.
