Engine Built - Now Strange sound!!!
I just talked to the guy that did the build and told him about the sound, he said it's coming from the down pipe because it's hitting something, and he couldn't fix it cuz the down pipe has the cut out, he barely mover it away so it won't hit anything
Before you tear it all apart take the cover off of the front of the engine for the cam gears and see if the timing belt has any slack in it. If it does your timing belt tensioner is loose for what ever reason. When they are bad they can slap and sound like rod knock. And it won't do it all the time. I had this problem with my subaru.
completely a wild guess but my aftermarket throwout bearing has a slight grinding sound to it which is kind of what I hear in the video??
maybe the downpipe rubbing against the drive shaft?? I have no clue good luck

Have you ever found the solution to the sound? I have the same sound at 2500-3000rpm after the 3rd buil and it did not do it for the first 2 builds. I reused the block pistons and rods but got a new crank. it runs good and have 600 miles so far and no shavings in the last 3 oil changes. I cut the filter to check. solution please

hey man sorry for the late reply but finally we actually got tiered of it and just went ahead tuned the car and the car made awesome power and we never got any false knock. The car was running awesome until a jerk decided it would be funny to turn right in front of me for no reason. Car front end was damaged and then sold as is...
but for the sound, stayed there till the end..
