Well, Im in the middle of a cam install (HKS mivec 272s). I bought the intake cam w/ a mivec gear already on it from an EvoM member, so i was just going to swap in the entire assembly. What troubles me, is that the Mivec gear is different than mine?? Mine is light grey w/ numbers 1-2 across. His mivec gear is very dark grey w/ numbers 1-1 across. The vertical numbers are the same, i think it says 7 or something. Does anyone know if there are differences in the mivec gears on our IXs? I bought this off a California member, not sure if Evos are different across the country or not. Just thought it was odd that Mitsubishi created different mivec gears??

I would think there would not be any diffrence. Not sure, but I'd swap the gears to be safe.

 

yeah i guess you're right... better be safe than sorry. Dangit... i was hoping to save a bit of work. Its hell getting that mivec gear off of the cam that is not in the head!
