Then, he supercharged it, with adding just the supercharger onto his system, he gained very little hp or torque... Switched to a dual 3" exhaust, and gained double of what he'd gained with the restrictive exhaust.
Example 2:
A friend here had the same exhaust I have but his car had 272s, an upgraded turbo, and alchy injection, and the injen intake, his exhaust was SO restrictive you could hear the air trying to force it's way out of the tight spaced muffler (it's tight spaced just long enough to keep it quiet, but also just long enough to make it restrictive), cut that muffler off and wielded on a magnaflow and it's working just perfect.
Point is, yeah, what Buschur said is right, the magnaflows with a highflow are pretty dang quiet. Just a highflow cat seems to reduce noise by a pretty good deal... For quietness, you sacrifice flow. A straight back exhaust without even a muffler is going to be insanely loud, but there will be 3" of room for the air all through the piping.
In short, no, to your question, quite the opposite... actually I'm not sure about the Evo, but on a few other cars I've had experience with a BETTER flowing exhaust can have an adverse affect (meaning what you said would be true, and you'd need more mods) i.e. a 4" straight back on an Evo...maybe?
If you want a quiet exhaust and aren't going to be doing cams or intake anytime soon, the Injen is the way to go for sure, asside from stock, I haven't heard ANY quieter (seriously, at idle, it's just a deeper rumble than stock and at WOT it's loud enough you can tell you have an aftermarket exhaust, but that's it, no ears bleeding or anything)... If you plan on doing cams or intake so soon that you'd be ripping off the Injen muffler within a few weeks, or even a few months, then the Buschur one is the next quietest I've heard, a lot of them I've heard are **** loud though...

Thanks. This helps a lot.
I have K&N typhoon intake, Walbro pump, 800cc injectors, and UTEC waiting to go online. I'll keep in mind what you said. This is very helpful, and this forum rocks.
Do you mind helping me out with questions when I do upgrades? I'll consider changing my exhaust to something different if what you just described happens. Once again, thanks for your comments and information.
The current price on our full turbo back exhaust is $850, that includes shipping to you in the continental US. Also you choice of either muffler, offroad pipe or highflow cat, installation kits, clamps etc.
Thanks for asking,

Yes, we have an offroad pipe you can swap back and forth. Just give us a call.
Greddy ti, a lot more money for no more power and only 4 pounds of weight savings over our exhaust, that's what I think.

Just wanted to give my review of the Magnaflow Ti catback and HKS 30th anniversary catback... Magnaflow Ti looks really good and is light weight, but that's about it. It costs a lot of money and I don't think it's worth it. It's too loud for me and the slip fit design is a pain to get things lined up right so that you don't burn your bumper or hang it too low. HKS is the best fitment I've seen on a system, besides the fact that it may slightly stain your bumper, but that's what my CF exhaust shield is for! They both do bolt up nicely to the stock cat, but the HKS is way easier to fit a torque wrench or open ended wrench in there. HKS is a lot quieter than Magnaflow Ti, but it still sounds really good. I noticed a good gain on my top end w/ only a MBC set to 20 psi and an MR BOV. I would highly recommend the HKS system, but it is rather expensive as well. David I really wanted to go with your exhaust, but I wanted to keep the stock cat and didn't want to go with a 2.5" downpipe.

<--- Greddy Ti here and I love it. Best sounding exhaust in my opinion. I had greddy evo2 before this whihch is def my other facorite. greddy evo2 is good because its really quiet when your just cruising around and loud when you get on it. greddy Ti is nice because its less then 10 lbs for full catback and sound/looks awesome.
Installed my RSR last week and love it! Not loud at all! Just a nice deep tone & freed help some HP. Highly recommend it. Also I found it on E-Bay for $360 shipped from: aznbst http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAP...=STRK:MEWN:SID
