Interesting comment.

I did some research before getting an o2 housing, and the epm dump had proven results on a IX turbo.

Go get a tune and you will feel the power. Although mine felt faster by just bolting it up. Could have just been the placebo effect.

On the note of the install I have had my o2 off my car probably 10 times now. If your a newbie I would just pull the turbo off of the car it makes it easier but more time consuming and less chance of breaking the bolts off in the hotside from what I have seen. Otherwise just remove the radiator and pop the hotside off. Getting to some of the bolts is a real pita though.

Anyways congrats on the new mods, get a tune and you should be happy.

Thanks, let me ask you. How the heck did you tighten down the one bolt that is closest to the engine? A socket does not even fit over it and there is no room using a regular wrench. I tightened that sucker as much as i could, but I know its not as tight as the other 4. I was worried about exhaust leak, but doesn't seem like there is one.

I have done the O2 housing thing now about 7 times... on the same car! We actually have an O2 specific socket... we took a 14mm deep well socket and cut a bit off the socket so we could get it on the back bolt with a rachet... works like a charm...

The first time I did the install it took me about 4 hours... The last time I did it it took me about 3 hours. The longest part is draining the radiator, cause I use the little drain nipple, I don't pop the lower hose cause I always make too much of a mess Using the drain nipple it takes about 30-45 minutes for the radiator to drain completely...

FYI this is doing the removal/installation of the radiator, DP,wideband O2, UICP & LICP, the intake and the O2 housing.

haha I did the same thing for the back bolt it does work amazingly

Well I am use to making a mess I just pop off the lower radiator hose.. it does make a mess. Sometimes I can catch it all in a bucket other times it goes every but the bucket

What Version? My definetly has no different sounds on cold starts. All the way up to 15-17 psis, the car sounds like it always did.

I will try to get pics of the bottom.

Sounds like you have a leak somewhere ... you didn't reuse the stock O2 > Hotside gasket, did you? Double check all of your exhaust connections for leaks.

Do NOT reuse the OEM/Stock hotside gasket; if you do the wastegate tube will huff/leak causing power losses. As for the bolt/stud install issue, I have used a wobbles short reach/seat socket and it does wonders. You can also use a very short stubby open end 14mm wrench. I have done this install way too many times to remember. Taking the radiator out will also work wonders, allowing you to do 90% of the work above the car and not below. I have never removed the turbo or manifold. To obtain the full power effect a tune is warranted however not mandated. There are more benefits other than just an increase in HP.... ie; ability for more boost, cooler charge temps, more boost for longer revs, less back pressure, quicker spoolup....

Anyone needing help advice with an install feel free to let me know and I'll do all that I can to help you out. Give me a call 205-216-8301 M-F 9am-6pm CST...or PM/Email me info below

stay tuned for more....EPM....
