the cast manifolds shouldnt have this problem as much because of the thickness, no?

I think first you need to differentiate to the people in this thread whether you were talking about an actual aftermarket piece or the stock manifold.

Do the porting, good for 7-10whp... Skip on the coating, waste of money.

PPI Extreme port!

Cheers!

I told him my red has the porter hot side, he said it doesn't matter.
WTF?
I think you misunderstood what I was saying. I originally thought you had a stock turbo. When you told me that you had a ported red turbo I said that I would gladly do it but would want the turbo here as well so could port match it to the manifold. I never mentioned it would be too thin. It's a thick cast piece and cracking won't be a problem. I did say that it's impossible to port the runners completely through so you're limited to what you can get out of the stock manifold over a tubular one.

You asked several times if it was "worth it" and that depends. The manifold design works well and it will look better after coating but a lot of people don't want to spend that much on an old, stock design manifold. That's why I showed you the coated GT Spec and the Turbotrix manifolds. I was trying to give you all of your options so you could make an informed decision.

based on the info found on evom... only 2 manifolds produce more power then a ported stock manifold.... Full-Race and Shearer stock replacement manifolds.

Then apparently you don't talk to the right people. They've always helped me out and numerous other people that I know.

They were a huge help and a big arm in the coming together of my old red car that made almost 600 on meth. Car ran great and had no issues except the ones I caused every now and then

It has been confirmed that polishing does nothing it may actually hurt performance. Take a look at an engineering fluid mechanics textbook. Porting on the other side does has its performance gains if done correctly. In addition like already said in the thread a cast unit retains heat well.

FYI I have had nothing but great experiences with them. I can't even count the amount of times they have helped me sorting problems I might of had and not even charging me. They do great work and are very helpful. Sorry for getting off topic.
