Battery in the Trunk
Is there a how to on putting the battery in the trunk? I once saw a thread that shows peoples set ups, ect... but the search function is not helping me much. It's mostly for road racing, and I'm not sure if they rules and regs differ between R/R and Drag. Thanks as always to those who help.
Im not positive on the rules either but I put my battery in the trunk. I used 0 gauge welding lead a friend got for free and bought a battery box off jegs.com.
You just need to go to auto zone or advance auto and pick up a few connectors. Also you might want to order a main battery shut off. With the battery in the trunk to be able to run at the track I believe its needed.
All in all its a easy job just throw some extra grounds up front to the engine to the chassis and in the trunk just run a couple more grounds this way you only need to run the power cable to the back.

Well, its pretty much straight forward. Use thick gauge wires and sand the part where you are going to use for ground. Also, you might want to use some kind of tray or tie down for your battery. Some battery needs proper ventilation, so be sure to check battery type. Don't forget to cover up all of your wires under the hood so you don't accidentally short your system.
If the battery is in your trunk it has to be in a enclosed box that is ventilated or you wont be able to track your car anywhere Im sure.
I tore out my spare tire and under there is a mount that you can tear off and makes so the battery goes right down in the spare tire hole.
Or on the drivers side behind the tail light theres enough room to fit a small battery. Im going to be changing my to that spot so its hidden and there less to see. Also to note that is where I have my power cable coming up through the bottom right there you'll see a rubber plug. Just pull it through the plug and you can follow your fuel lines right the front and zip tie your power cable to it.
