Haven't gotten a chance to put it on the lift yet. But I checked the "S" line, no cracks or leaks from there. So I guess the only thing left is the cylinder itself. Looks like it's gonna be a pain to swap out.

There is nothing normal about a clutch pedal that wont release half way. This just happened to my Porsche, but it has a standard cable clutch line and it frayed and broke (40 years does that). That is unfortunate that your slave is broken, but that certainly sounds to be the culprit.

I just bled the system, it's coming out all foamy. Kept bleeding until it was just pure fluid. Got full pressure back from the pedal for a bit, then it became a complete dead pedal, didn't even come back halfway up. Then I swapped out the slave cylinder for a new unit, tried to bleed, still no pressure. I'm stuck, what else could it be?

It is a pretty simple system: Master cylinder, some hydraulic line and the slave. The fluid coming out foamy means air. The usual way air gets in the system is the master cylinder running dry. On this car the brake master cylinder supplies the fluid. So, I'd look there.

By the way, any time the clutch pedal does not come up think hydraulics or clutch. The clutch pressure plate returning to battery is what raises the clutch pedal but in your case it sounds like a hydraulic problem.

No leaks on the brake master cylinder, a buddy just suggested to swap out the clutch master cylinder. So I'll just do that, and hope that it fixes it.

I think its best to replace them in pairs, both master and slave.

I've already replaced the slave, that wasn't the culprit.

Replaced the Master cylinder as well, bled the system, still no pedal pressure. Could this be an internal problem?

I had this since day 1, brand new evo IX MR in 2006 when I adjusted the pedal after I felt it was grabbing too high from the floor. after looking underneath the car, the spring that provides resistance when you depress the clutch pedal does it job in doing it but not fully raise it back. maybe somebody can try to stretch the spring to make the clutch pedal raise back fully? I think that is problem not the master/slave.

Have you or anyone else ever adjusted the clutch before this started to happen?

I adjusted my clutch before as well using the guide thats found somewhere on here. I found that if I adjusted it too low to the point where it starts to catch like an inch off the floor, then if i drive around for a while, eventually the clutch pedal won't come ALL the way back up. It comes all the way up except for like the last inch. If I use my foot to bring it back up then it will come up but otherwise it stays down.

After I readjusted the pedal so that it catches a little higher, the problem goes away. The pedal comes all the way back up all the time.

If this sounds like whats happening to you then maybe you adjusted the clutch to catch way too low. Try to adjust it back to near factory catch point and see if it still stays down after you release it.
