I am bumping this thread because I am buying some new OEM parts, and have seen some differences.

I have all the obvious stuff: Evo 9 head, Evo 9 ECU and Evo 9 wiring harness and tapped the block for the MIVEC oil feed line.

However, it looks like the themo housing is a different part number, as is the coolant pipe off the back of the block as are a few other things (like the front lower coolant hose going to the radiator).

Question is, do I need these different Evo 9 parts, or will the parts from my Evo 8 work?

THanks.

Hi, on mine, the rad hoses were the same. I also used the original thermo housing, but from memory, one of the coolant hoses from it becomes redundant, and, on mine, is simply blocked off. It's possible I may have remembered this wrongly, and the hose that's blocked of comes out of the back of the block, but the thermo housing is definitely the original. The car was modified 4 years ago, is used hard, and has remained very reliable.
