Evo ECU Patch Harness

I couldn't find anywhere this had been discussed before, but the mods are welcome to nix this if it has.

I just plugged in an SAFCII with a pre-wired Evo patch harness into my 4G93 Mirage, and all sensor readouts worked perfect. The plugs are identical, as are all wires required by the SAFC. And, AdamJ39 proved in his swap research that the 4G94 and 4G93 manual ECUs have the same pinouts and connectors.

Despite the cost of the harness, I think it beats having to hack the factory harness. Also, many of you still have valid warranties or maybe even leases, so anything that doesn't permanently alter the car is a plus.

As with all good things in life, this applies to the manual equipped cars only.

If you haven't seen them, MachEvo.com has two choices, and there is always eBay.

Not trying to be mean at all, but I have to ask:

this is news?

Gunshin - it's actually been known for quite a while - any Evo or 2g Eclipse harness fits the Lancer.

Well, like a good newbie I searched and could find no mention of it, so I thought I was being a contributing member.

Would it even work with the RRM piggyback? I thought it was only like 3 wires you had to tap into and a vacuum line, I'm not sure if the harness would be necessary.

I'm saying to use it so you don't have to mess up the factory ecu wires. Just plug in the harness and solder your wires to the new harness. That way if you take your car in for warranty work there will be no sign of cut/spliced/soldered wires. Just remove the piggyback and harness, plug back in the old one.. and you are set to go. As for the vacuum line, all you have to do is put in a T fitting and just crimp it off and hide it when you remove the piggyback for warranty work.
