aftermarket FMIC that fits on stock IC pipes

Does anyone know anything about this? I don't know company, size, etc., but I heard its a bigger fmic that directly installs and fits the stock U&L ic pipes, and maybe with little to minor cutting/modding of front bumper or bumper cover.

not sure, but i think replacing ur pipes would result in a higher power gains than the ic first.

Nisei Engineering Competition FMIC, Evo 8/9 03'-06':
$985.00 ->maxumtechnologies: $600.00
Save: 39% off

# Fitment - Retains factory crash beam. Works with stock piping or any piping kit which retrofits to stock FMIC.
# Hardware - All hoses, T-bolt clamps, ready to install.

I think that this is the best IC also.

Perrin has an intercooler that bolts right up as well. No triming of the front crash beam etc.

Perrin, ETS 4", or Nisei.

I personally have the Perrin and was very impressed with the fitment and massive size, the stock undertray even still fits.

there are several IC's that work with the stock upper piping, not as sure about the stock LICP, but for as inexpensive as that is (less than $200) and the fact that you will see ~10 whp gains you might as well upgrade that peice as well. UICP wont provide whp gains, and IC itself wont either, just prevents heatsoak on hot days. Its the LICP and IC upgraded together that work in harmony. I bought a 3.5" E.T.S. IC and lower IC pipe for a great price- then later on completed my setup with UICP's/intake/turbo inlet pipe since I am going with a larger turbo and stepping up from the stock airbox-

Edit: E.T.S. 3" and 3.5" IC's for sure dont require any modification of front crash beam or underpanel either. I bought the 3.5" wide-tank version designed for the Evo 9 front bumper, there is regular version as well- GL lots of good IC options, went with ETS for great quality/price/customer service

I rock APS ftw. I got them because not to many people rocking it over here and i want my car to not be the norm parts. Huge ic that fills up all that space NO CUTTING at all. Fits perfect under the crash bar if your still rocking it and kit includes new hoses to mount on side of endtanks if you need some there are plenty of hose shops to get some from but if your upgrading intercooler might as well do the pipping also. knock it all out at once. here is great guide all about the intercooler and why i choose this one over others http://www.airpowersystems.com/us_sp.../fmic/fmic.htm. I also got a crazy sick deal on one lol . Im always wheeling and dealing. i have some nice guides on my site you can look at for installs and general information. stuff i have learned and done since i gotten my evo way more to come http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3123213

everybody will tell you something different get what you want to rock and make it happen even if its a new start up company remember the whp gain is from the lower pipe anyways ic just prevents heatsoak as stated above and looks trick when your driving down the street so others know whats really going on.

The AMS one doesnt require modifying anything. Like others said, get the LICP, its beneficial for performance.

I have heard about how good just an aftermarket LICP can be. that one is definitely on my list. I'm trying to mod the evo a bit, not too heavily, but decently. So I wanted an aftermarket IC, and probably piping too. I want to stick with the factory IX turbo, as it seems to be a pretty potent turbo.

Whats the size of the factory IC pipes, and what would be a good size to buy for aftermarket pipes, LICP especially?

also, what do you think of the ssautochrome intercoolers? The IC for the evo is $275 and its a whole kit.

also, that Perrin IC looks pretty good, $739 at the website but $564 from an ebay store. neither come with pipes though
