I ran them in my car for quite some time w/o any issues. I would suggest doing them for added safety.

there is NOTHING SAFE about running 580whp on a stock motor.. Will it last longer than without the bolts, probably..

Definitely do it...especially if you're spinning the motor high.

Back from the dead....At one point (HP) do you recommend getting rod bolts and how easy is the install?

I think most any of the 7 bolt 4G63 engines can benefit from the ARPs after around 400hp or if you plan on spinning past 7800 regularly. Not an "easy" job, but not super tough either, but you are getting into the bottom end, so taking care and knowing what you are doing is obviously important. The transfer case and oil pan have to be pulled obviously. Maybe popping in a new set of rod bearings at the same time is a good idea if the ones in there arent in great condition.

I think it would be very difficult to set a HP level on when they need changed. However, rod bolts will only help out when your getting up above the 500whp range. There is no set HP amount on when the stock bolts will fail.

I'm getting ready to put my 80mm FP Red on and when I start turning up the wick, I will replace the rod bolts.

I was told - Above 7800 RPM or above 400awhp -- switch to ARP rod bolts.

Above 500 - You need more then just bolts.
