IX MR owners

I am kind of new to the forum but I want to know about other IX MR owners and their power and trannys. I am at 322hp and I want 400hp but I am scared I will **** up my 6sp tranny. I rarely beat on the car and I am at 27k with stock clutch.

I know someone with an MR who has less then 400hp and needed the tranny rebuilt 2x already. I think the he drives more agressively then I do though.

Is there anyway to beef up my tranny? I can't find any 6sp gear mods. Do any of you have 400hp on the stock clutch with no gear problems?

From one MR owner to anther what is your opinion?

i can't relate to this at all. i'm basically stock powerwise. the only power mods i have are an HKS carbon ti catback. I do however drive my car like i stole it everytime i get behind the wheel, autocross it, road race it, and drag race it, and i've got 124k miles on my 06 IX MR. my stock clutch lasted about 70k, and the Exedy stage 1 i put in after it lasted about 50k. the transmission is fine. haven't had any problems with the car at all yet, and i BEAT on my car daily.

400 really isn't that much but I figure it's managable for me at the momment and I will not have to worry about making the car bomb proof as long as I take it easy, I assume.

my goal is to have 600whp daily driven and it'll be embarassing if i had to tow my own car back to work..

From what I've read on here, it seems like the road racers have more of a problem with the 6speed MR transmissions than anyone since they use the top 3 gears for more extended periods which are the weaker gears compared to the 5-speed. I've autocrossed for 2.5 seasons and currently have 23k miles on my IX MR. I'm pretty much stock and haven't had any issues yet. I say have fun with it until it breaks or you have the money do a 5-speed swap or have someone like TRE overhaul it.

Damn ODUB, 124k miles? That's a lot of seat time but I'm sure all grin inducing miles. I notice you have an Acccord also, when does that thing see any driving time?

I'm at 30k i have a 4th gear synchro problem and 5th gear isnt smooth at all. I just bought a 5speed and will be doing a full conversion with an exedy twin. To ME its worth the peace of mind that if i go to a track i wont have to get towed home.
