It sounds like someone changed the program in the ECU (the car's computer). There is a function called "no lift to shift" meaning that you can hold the gas to the floor when doing a hard pull and just clutch the car to shift. Thus you don't have to "lift" off of the throttle.

Go in the EcuFlash forum and post your issue. There are some prime ECU tuners from Aus that will certainly give you a hand.

If there is a hose going back to intake it's Recirculated...
If not it is VTA..

Sounds like the clutch to me..
How much HP you got, and how many miles on the Clutch?
Typical clutch going bad, is it's revving to a high rpm when you press clutch pedal and then falling at gear change.

Do you have a video cam..
That would help alot..
If so, go video the rpm guage while it's doing it..
Checked the HKS is recircultated....
Dunno how much hp it has....its a jspec and I only got it yesterday. The previous owner imported it from Japan 1 year ago in the state its in....Only mod he reckons he has done is tint the windows other than changing seat belts/tires etc for Australian Compliance...
Oh and the clutch....
The clutch is under 1 year old and done approx 6-7000km's and it is an Exceedy Heavy Duty Organic clutch...?

Drove it into the city before and back home....(about 70kms) and it doesnt seem to be playing up now.....

DUNNO....I'll go pull the IC piping off n have a look

Did you ever find out what the problem was cuz my is doing the same. I left off on the gas and it gets stuck. It holds anywhere between 2 to 5k rpm. Until I turn off the and restart it

It most likely is your throttle body shaft seals in collaboration with your BOV. Get a Evo 9 Diverter valve and you should be fine.
