i personally think the limit for a 9 turbo spike is 32psi....ive seen shops in this forum that boost 33+ psi on the 9 turbo, which gets them crazy torque power......i personally spike 30psi and hold 21psi to 7500rpm on my 9 turbo with the forge wastegate on e85...

it kind of seems that way i mean we run 24ish on the evoIII 16g's they are supposed to be at about 14psi stock.... so 10 over stock 30 on the evo 9..... i'd deffinitely make sure it tapered off at higher rpm's.... to get it going it can make 30 psi.

what you want to lower is the turbo's rpm's.... in lower rpm's 30 psi could be about 100,000 rpm's but at 7,500 way higher like 180,000.... those numbers aren't precise or even possibly close i don't know how fast that turbo spins. what i'm trying to say it, always have it taper down at higher rpm's on small turbo's and you should be fine.

The turbo tapers off at high rpms because it physically can't flow enough air. Running 24 lbs on a 9 turbo is fine, hell i run 23 on my 8 right now. I'm in the process of switching over to the 9 turbo, will run 24 lbs on 93 and 28-30lbs on e85. The turbo is well out if it's efficiency range but the E85 makes up for it with it's cooling effect.

apparantly I goofed I just needed to put more turns on it LOL

Well I put 112 leaded in it and cranked it to 29psi spike holding to 23psi.

Then I had my friends low 11 sec mustang give me the break. Beat him by a nose

Yeah, sounded like he just turned his MBC up and ran higher boost without a tune. Be careful. You can't just crank it up and expect the tune to work with that boost level

i have an 8 with bolt ons and cams and a 9 turbo in it that hasnt been tuned yet. ive ran 24psi on it constantly for about a year and a half and they are right. right now i have about a centimeter of shaft play. even untuned i put down 350whp and ran a 12.1 @ 114 on straight 93 with a bad launch though. i always wondered what it would be capable of if i had gotten it tuned but it's time for an upgrade. straight drop in i went from 12.3 @ 110 with a 1.73 60' to a 12.1 @ 114.3 with a subpar launch. mine always tapered to 20 at redline also. id recomend sticking to 24 unless you are using meth, e85, race gas, etc

I put 30psi to it this morning holy dang it's quick, this time we used C16 with a little toulene and marvel mystery oil. only 1 knock count upon full spool then 0 counts till redline. She comes out like an animal.
