would like 450awhp

Hi, I have a 2006 MR. When i get back from Iraq i would like it to hit 450 awhp or more. Right now im at 290awhp i have a injen intercooler pipes with intake, perrin 3in down pipe and a perrin 3in cat back exhuast. she boosting about 25 psi on stock turbo right now. About what kind of boost or hp can i get before i have to start doing major internal parts. Would it be better to 2.4 strocker motor or keep the 2.0. I do a little bit of everything i drag race street race and i do highway pulls. what would be my best bet for all around performance.

your best bet would be to search newb. 100s of threads of people looking for that type of power, and it can be done stock block.
fyi, 2.4 isnt exactly a common build. 2.3 or a built 2.0 is the norm. neither are necessary for 450whp as the stock block is more than capable at that power level.

well i hit ~430whp on my mods but my stock rods didnt like the torque so i now have a built shortblock. i think you are going to need a fp red or larger turbo to get 450whp or potentialyl run meth in combination with a stock 9 or green turbo. thank you for serving our country!

Yes the Forced Performance RED is awesome and a direct replacement. Go with that and their FP4 cams or M3 Cosworth cams. Their are other cam options and everyone will give you their .02. But the bottom line is, if your doing cams in a IX you need to go big to make it worth the hassle and $$$ in my opinion. You dont need to start worrying about the bottom end until you get to 500whp. Do all supporting mods like Buschur ported exhaust mani, Buschur 65mm TB, and Buschur ported intake mani. Dont forget the EPM 02 dump. That combination is awesome and will easily give you 450. This exact set up on a built bottom end and E85 gave me over 600whp. Good luck...

FP red with cams would be the way to go. If you want to get more power out and dont mind spending the money, a Full Race tubular manifold would be nice.
