Please help me decide on my exaust choice between hks hi-power or RmR and why you like that product better.

I've had the RMR exhaust for a while now and I love it. It sounds deep and throaty, not a like ricebox or a tin can. I can't speak for the HKS one, but the quality on the RMR is top-notch, too. A lot of the people I've met here in VA are converts now. I think either one is a good choice.

Their sound clip has an overrun backfire. Is this normal for the exhaust or is it due to other tuning on the RMR Evo?

There is the backfire but i like it. Its nothing loud or anything.
Its normal on the the evo though. The stock exhaust does it too but you just cant hear it. I took off my muffler a couple times and the backfire was REAL loud.

I have the HKS downpipe so i dont need to mod the braces

But with the HKS downpipe and RMR cat-back it sound real nice. Ill probably get a test pipe now

Go with RMR!

I've got RMR and find myself turning off my radio sometimes to hear it, so smooth, like a piece of music coming out of my engine at 80+ mph! Ok, ok... cheesey I know, but you know that the HKS has probably got to be just as nice, it is HKS, so go with whichever fits your budget best.

I'm a JDM guy and I vote for HKS only. I have HKS downpipe now and it's great.

Can't wait until the UPS guy show up next Monday with my HKS catback.

I would have to say RMR over HKS ONLY because I have sold alot of RMR catbacks with 100% satisfaction so far and HKS is new to the market so I don't know yet. I am sure it is great but RMR is $570 plus shipping and HKS is $600 plus shipping and I am sure that you would be happy with either one. Kinda name brand choice because I am sure that they are both great with about the same HP increases and similar sound (somewhat). Let me know. I carry both and those are my prices ! Thanks !

Had a Hiper on my 180 in Japan and it's dope! Great sound, nice gurgle. Even better this is a 2.0 as opposed to my 1.8 in Japan so it will sound even better. No contest, go with the Japanese brand.

I didn't know they put the CA18DET in 180's.

HKS is overpriced in my opinion.

Not if you can pull it on for 20-25% of MSRP. He has no chance of a discount with the RMR.... buying new that is.

I can discount 5% on RMR (dealer rules) and do about 25% off msrp for HKS.
