Lil Help?

Ok, so here is the deal. I have twin fuel pumps runnin on E85. After drivin for 10-20 min my car will start to lean out. I thought it was just a my primary fuel pump going out, so I just swapped them inside the tank and it still leaned out after drivin. Next i checked in inline fuel filter and it was good. No dirt or anything came out of the filter. I don't really think it could be an injector problem..... So what else could it be? I'm pulling the CEL's tomorrow. I usually have 2-3 on the car that always come back but never effect driveability.. All mods are in sig... I don't think its a boost leak bc it doesn't do it constantly or at all until its been driven for a while.

If I were to make my best motor sound it would be some where in this area: Vrrrrrmmmmmmmmmmmm(normal)bluhvvrrrrrrrrrmmmmmmmmm mmbluh bluhvrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm mmm bluh bluh bluh until finally the bluh all equal very lean AFR and I pull over and shut the car off for a while. After 5 min of sitting I can drive the car normally for a couple of miles until it repeats the process. I had to limp it home like this. Hope the sound effects helped.

I think it has to be something mechanical bc i'm able to shut the car off and sit and then it will run for a while longer. I thought it was the pump getting hot..... Now I'm stuck.

well if your car sounds like that, it's probably a problem with fuel pressure...got a gauge you could check it with?

however, if it was going.... Vrrrrrmmmmmmmmmmmm(normal)pssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhh(rfl bov)bluuuuuuuuughhhhhhggghhh(not normal)pooooooooooooooooooooooo(i dont know)
then you'd have a big problem on your hands

but yea check your pressure...maybe switch back to a 93 octane map and see if it still leans?

good luck

I do have a fuel pressure gauge. I'll check that but I'm almost certain its a fuel issue, but I don't know where to look. I'll throw the gauge on this weekend.

It sure sounds like some kind of fuel issue to me as well.

I gave up on the problem after I could not figure it out. I took it to my mechanic and he bypassed the fuel pressure silenoid (I think) and wah lah. 5 min fix. Zip tied the vacuum hose and all is good to go.
