Very weird problem....any help appreciated!!
this sounds like a problem that I had last month on my MR and resolved by replaced the new thermostat. It was "stuck" sometimes and didn't allow the coolant to recircular hence causing the temp to rocket even sometimes at idle. In my case, eventually it would open and the temp got down quickly.

thanx for all the replys guys.....well there is no coolant in the oil at all. No discolored smoke either. Gonna check the sparks plugs next and gonna replace thermostat later in the week to start eliminating possiblities. Till then i will just take it easy on the car.....
heres what funny with the sputtering/lose of power problem.....if i have my boost turned up anywhere past lets say 15psi the sputtering happens....it happened when i was on the road last night. I got out of the car and dropped the boost to about 12-13 psi and it will sputter for a short period and then after that the car runs and pulls fine with no sputter? Very wierd
will continue to use the input and see if i can keep trying to figure this thing out
