Clutch/Transmission problems

Hi guys, I'm having troubles with my transmission... I bought the card used, never had issues with the transmission, probably because I never launched it before, last night I did quite a bit of launches... trying to master my launch before going to the Drag strip, everything was working fine...

I left the place and went to a friends house, was there about 10 minutes with the car off and when I was leaving I tried to put the car into gear and It was almost impossible to get the car into gear, had to turn the car off and put it into gear to start moving, when the car is already moving I can put the car into gears like nothing ever happened, but when the car is still I have to muscle the shift in or turn the car off and get it into gear and then start it.

Car power seems to be the same as I stepped on it and seems to be running just fine.

Anyone has any idea what is going on?

Help is greatly appreciated, mods on my sig...

Alain

I had the same problem after a clutch and transmission job. I put in an exedy twin plate brand new and it was doing this, not sure if this is a clutch or a transmission problem.

WHen you can't shift into gear is it more notchy or more of a complete gear block? What clutch do you have?

Sometimes im just not able to put it on gear... I could probably force it dont want to push it to hard so I just turn off the car and get into 1st, sometimes I just need to push the shift hard and it will get into gear... but once i get the car moving I can pretty much shift into any gear like nothing ever happend...

forgot about the clutch... Honestly I have no idea, it has the same clutch it had when I bought the car, a friend told me it sounds like twin plate but I honestly have no idea because I have never opened the transmission

yeah you're having some engagement issues with the clutch. if it is in fact a twin plate in there, try adjusting the clutch pedal because that may be whats causing the gear lock. here's a link for how to do this - http://evomoto.com/tech_info.php?tPa...f3548b7fa62014

search the forums too for clutch pedal adjustment

good luck

Ok well adjusting higher for more rod travel made it worse and dropping the rod travel wasn't much good either....

found the sweet spot pretty much in between the two, will wait and see how things are in the morning when she's all cooled down... so far so good

Maybe I should try this too. Mine shifts fine in all gears except it's tough to put into 6th gear. Once in 6th it doesn't shift out into Neutral smooth. It feels bad shifting out of 6th gear. Just this weekend I was had trouble shifting into 1st after having just shifted out of 6th and come to a complete stop. I'm at 25,500 miles right now. I called the dealer but they come up with the, "we need to tear it open and look to see if it was abused bit." I'm the second owner so I don't know all the history. It may be worth it to try this first.

I went to a workshop and they told me they had to open the transmission etc etc... I came back, opened this thread... was linked to the pedal adjustment how to and a couple hours after my problem was fixed... It is VERY easy to do, the only thing that sucks is the body position to access the bolt

I just put an exedy twin in my car 2 weeks ago and I'm having this problem too. I raised the engagement pretty much as high as it would go and its still a struggle to put my car into reverse / first. Also it was very annoying to have it engage so high up.

I called Exedy and they said that it was probably the slave cylinder going out, however I expect that I would see a bunch of fluid around the slave cylinder area, which I don't.

As posted earlier, when the car it shut off I can shift through the gears like butter. When the car is moving I can shift through the gears like butter. I only have a problem when my car is at a complete stop.

Any ideas?
