Question Tcase or rear diff

So i've been noticing for the last couple hundred miles what seems to sounds like the death whine but coming more so from the rear end. I have a shep trans and tcase with about 2000 miles so i dont know why it would be the tcase. I've launched the car 3 times since i had the drivetrain replaced.

When i did a fluid change about 1500 miles ago there were a lot of shavings coming from the rear end.

The whining is loud at around 55-70 mph and sometimes you hear it on decel and sometimes you dont.

So rear end or tcase?

well its not that big of a deal if its the rear end b/c i expected it to go but it would really suck if it was the tcase, especially since it was a freshly built not too long ago...

Well the rear end can whine too.... The ring and pinon is what makes all the noise. When did you notice it? Did it happen right after a lanuch? Were you on the street, or at the track when it happened??

Like i said I only launched it 3 times and that was last year. I was beating on it a couple nights ago just driving at high speeds and that is when i noticed. No launching just hard driving at 35psi

Well I drove back from my parents house lastnight which was about 180 miles from my house. I had a lot of time to figure where the sound was coming from and im almost 100% positive it is in the rear end. I will be trying to contact TRE today to see what they have to offer.

I called shep and he seems to think its the Tcase... That would suck seriously since I just had it rebuilt. He said the driveshaft could transmit the sound. Its just wierd since I dont really hear it up front.

I have to give a couple people a ride and see what they think.
