Which is safer for DD?

running a stock 9 turbo at a high psi such as 28-30psi with meth or run a bigger turbo(red) at 22-24psi to achieve 400/400?
Thanks

ofcourse with stock internals and the usual basic supporting mods such as
1) tbe
2) inatake
3) ic piping
4) 02 housing.
5)fuel pump
6)injectors
7) fmic + piping
Thanks

Don't hold me to it but I would think the "red" with less boost because if you run high boost with the stock evo 9 turbo your going to be running past its efficency and you could blow your turbo which can get into the motor and break something. Please correct me if i'm wrong.

The safer route given the ones you listed would be the red. It's not so much that running the stock turbo out of it's effeciency range will cause it to fail, as it is the increased pressure can cause a laundry list of items to fail in your motor.

Too much backpressure with the stock turbo... you would have to tune very accurately.

I think ur reffering more to damaging the turbo with the resulting backpressure of running higher psi. I was thinking more of what is safer for the engine. in terms of pressure, generated heat....etc

I would like to be in the 400 range, however, I am trying to do it as safe as possible, even tho it might cost me another $1500 to upgrade the turbo, but i would rather do it safe and trying to research it and see what everyone thinks before i pull the trigger.

thanks,

thanks,
no, what I meant was that having an engine that feels more backpressure is not safe because the tune cant generate as much power because it is more likely to knock due to that backpressure.

The tune is what gives you the power, the mods are only power enable'ers.

I understand that the higher the pressure, the lower the ignition temperature point, the more often u experience knock.
but so ur saying going with a bigger tubo and run it at a lower psi is safer? i would agree with u .
