If you want a stock appearing turbo you can still have the option of getting the original compressor housing.

I chose to go with the new one

Oh lordy... if I only had 1,800 dollars of new FR Red and not 1,300 dollars of debt ... maybe I should sell my soul so I can pay off my credit card and buy an FR Red

has fp / robert young published any flow data results for the new compressor housing over the standard fp-red housing? Dyno comparison?

The meat of the scroll looks larger than the oem unit...

Some people have been getting surge with the stock housing red.

Thats pretty interesting, my buddy has been waiting almost 9 weeks so far and keeps getting the run around on the phone.

Gotta love it.

Do they come with the black compressor housing? or was that something you did yourself?

I still believe this is a stock appearing turbo... the inlet is bigger only to create the anti-surge, inlet still looks stock size.

I sent in a core which is supposedly the quicker method of getting one (no wait on the MHI side of things). I'm sure he will be getting his soon. He should give them a call and let them know he wants the new housing as well, which should probably help speed things up. Besides that all I can say is that they have absolutely been swamped, and trying their best to pump these out as quickly as they can (part of the reason this new cover is in existence).

PS Loki I have no clue where you see a black cover?

Patience your grasshopper.......Tell your buddy not to worry it took 10 weeks for mine to show up. FP right now is creating their own turbos basically from scratch. is not sharing alot of stock evo IX turbos with FP anymore. If your buddy purchased a new turbo with no evo IX core it takes a bit longer vs. Evo IX, FP Green, Or White upgrade.
