I guess when you run now you have to state either REDv1 or REDv2!!

SRT-TO-EVO,

Did you buy this turbo new from FP or did you send a IX turbo in for the conversion? Reason I ask is I'm curious if I send my IX turbo in - will I get the new larger compressor housing?

Looks great man - congrats! Let us know your results when it gets on

The web page says you pick which housing you prefer.

See that's the part I'm curious about. I'm looking at the Turbo Upgrade page at it does state that you can have the 80mm inlet for an extra $150. However, it says that under the "Evo X" turbo upgrade. Does not say it under the Evo IX.

SRT-TO-EVO,

Did you get charged extra for the 80mm inlet when sending in your IX core?

Its most definitely not stock appearing any more, but that doesn't matter to me at all. Its not like there is a money race bracket for stock turbo Evos.

Apparently they felt the benefits of the new housing far outweighed having it look stock. Stock "framed".

Good chance it was me...either me or Jamie (Sick9) our cars are the same color and we used to have the same black powder coated BBSs...his car has a ton of exterior carbon fiber stuff though...

these are some very good points but i don't see how it can still be "stock Appearing" with a different from factory compressor housing...

If its just "appearance" that we are talking about then its still stock appearing, just not 100% stock appearing, only 50%.

For everyone talking about it not being stock appearing anymore, back when the sole turbo option for DSMs consisted of a 16g, it was "stock appearing" Then the 20g came around, which was still a bolt-on, but not really stock appearing otherwise. Then even larger bolt-on turbos came out, and people quickly forgot about "stock appearing" and were more excited by the fact that they could bolt on bigger and better turbos.

Today, in the EVO world, the Red is bigger than any truly stock appearing bolt-on turbo that we ever had in the DSM world. If you really want it to look stock, get a Red V1. If you can live with near-stock in exchange for the updated features, get the new housing. Or sit back and wait for the HTA35 wheel to be stuffed into that new housing like they hinted at.
