I am building a stroker with higher RPM capabilities. Curt is getting the first one and Ron is in line for the second engine.

I LOVED Project White, the low end, response, comfort, quietness, handling etc. were all just awesome.

Since bumping this thread I can't quit thinking about it. It would be easy enough to turn the Bad Bish into this build but it would be substantially faster than Project White ever was. It's much lighter, the forward facing kit would add more power etc. I figure it would run 9.5's but the MPH would be in the 145-147 mph range...............and while the 9.5's are interesting compared to the car running a best of 9.0's now, the loss of 15 mph up top is heart breaking! My car pulls like mad now, I don't know if I want to sacrifice any of that top end power......

It's hard to say for sure. I recommend 8500 rpm on our current builds but in reality we've had no RPM related failures and they have been run to over 9,000 rpm.

The goal of this build is to be able to advertise a new recommended redline of 9,000 rpm.

Heat shields arebin stock.

Engine specs, super light weight pistons, probable rod change and billet light weight crank.

I know what you mean....analysis paralysis....I want a nice broad power curve with 500whp+.

My thought was a 2.3 with my HTA Green would be really sweet.

dave what does the RS rev too in each gear at the track and whats the gearing/final.

is it stupid to think your old motor recommended 8500rpm but was pushed to 9K safely would mean the new recommended 9000rpm can go 9500?

The RS we shift at 8500 but in the traps in 4th gear it crosses at 9850'ish, stock final drive and 160 mph trap speed.

I don't speculate on what an engine will withstand. I don't know how many guys are rev'ing their 2.3's from us to 8500 rpm constantly but in quite a few years of building them I've seen ONE stock crank that developed a hair line crack in it, other than that I've not seen a failure I'd say was caused by RPM. I have quite a few of these being road raced, Dieter from California was probably the fastest EVO with our stroker to ever run on a road course. He ran the engine in his car for about 3 years and then sold it to someone else who put it in another Time Attack car and ran it.

Let me put this stuff into perspective. Our standard stroker build, if you have stock final drive, I'd recommend for anyone who wants to go as fast as about 9.90's. It will stay within it's safe RPM range like that.

John Shepherd has our standard stroker in his EVO and has gone 9.60's at 150 mph, he's running the 4.11's, very good solution and he's running just about the 8500 rpm limit now.

The 2.3 is a huge difference in feel on the street and just a joy to drive.

If I could get 9500 rpm out of a 2.3 it would be the ultimate as 10,000 rpm really isn't needed except for the most ridiculous builds. I could run a little taller tire on the RS or change to the 4.11's and get away with 9500 rpm and still hit 8.90's I think.
