Exhaust Help

Ok first post here I got my evo about 2 weeks ago. I'd like some help on an exhaust system, price isn't an issue I will save up for it because I want the best for the car. You guys know how nismo is directly connect to Nissan, does mitsubishi have a company like that ? I would like to get the exhaust that gives the best performance for the car and the best sound. Any suggestions please help ?

Yes but RalliArt cat-back for evo is overpriced, heavy.... and much better systems can be had for the $. In fact, and entire turbo back can be had for a couple hundred more than that thing... just my two cents bud...

Do some research... there are allot of very nice exhaust systems out for the evo now. When I was in the market for exhaust... there were only a few to choose from. Now there are literally 20-30 systems. Key points... stick with stainless, stay light, and 3" piping..... unless you plan to always retain the stock turbo and o2 housing... and then your downpipe can bit slightly smaller... like the HKS 2.65"

G00d luck!

Just remove the muffler with a "muffler delete pipe" $160
and remove the cat converter with a "test pipe" or
do a "high flow/race cat converter" $150-$200.

Sounds and you'll feel the h.p....

I have been looking quite a bit for an exhaust. I narrowed mine down to what was available through my local speed shop (HKS, 5zigen, TANABE) just to name a few. I am going with the TANABE UltraM titanium. More than anything because I know it's high-end stuff and nobody else around here has one on their EVO.

Be careful when looking at exhausts online, get the particulars (weight, size, material, bends etc.)

That's my .02

Buschur Racing Turbo back exhaust

$750, 3.0 all the way back, no nonsense, no bling, all power.

30 WHP, no CEL light as of now, no cat, you never want a cat on a turbo car if your power hungry.

Unless you're doing a turbo upgrade a muffler delete pipe and test pipe is all you need. The "gains" will be the same. Go full 3" if you're going bigger turbo.

Also look at the H&S. As of now I am thinking H&S full turbo back and the Vishnu computer.

The AMS sounds great and looks pretty good. I saw a HKS HiPower the other day and it's huge, exactly what I want. I should have waited. From what I hear they sound great too. I would definitely look into HKS. I believe the HiPower is only around 550.

The only problem is they are build like ****. not even SS from what I remember. Check out the H&S "I" Think it's the best. I was looking at the BR but I don't want all that noise and I can do the H&S in stock pieces.

most of the jdm exhaust now complies with the us spec evo8,no more issues with the bumper clearance but they still dont come with the 02 bung so you still have to get one welded on to it. mines running with a RMR catback w/ downpipe and a perrin cat-delete,sounds pretty pretty good and not that rattling sound cough RICERS!! cough jk. have fun searching.

This is true to the point of "no 02 bung". Both the HKS Hi-Powers come with a 02 bung.

Yep if you want the best fix - sound and performance go with Burshur turbo back, I did and couldn't be happier. It is verything you could ask for.
