Question: Evo 8(2005) to a FP Red??

I am wondering why can't an Evo 8 turbo be turned into a Red? When they change the inside of the turbo anyway.

I know the 9 has a 10.5 hot side and the 2005 Evo 8 turbo has the same. (I know this because on my turbo it has 10.5 on it) What is different between my 2005(Evo 8) turbo and a 2006 (Evo 9) both having a 10.5 hot side? Can some one shine some light on this subject?

Do you think FP don't want to say they can do it because they would get over swamped with turbos more than what they are now?

I didn't fined anything in the search bar on this subject. Thanks for looking and helping.

Has nothing to do with the compressor housing, more technically it's the backplate where the comp. housing attaches to the center cartridge. If the backplate on the cartridge was the same same size, they could just slap their new cast comp. housing on the VIII turbo and be done with it.

Maybe they'll cast a version that works with the VIII center section, which would give them alot more potential upgrade business. They probably make more money doing upgrades than having to buy new MHI turbos to use as cores.
