Help! Evo 7 GSR AYC DRAIN BATTERY

hi guys,

Evo7 gsr imports, with ADC and AYC.

A few weeks ago, I just replaced the clutch from a workshop and now I have a drain battery problem.

After the car turn off, I can hear a buzzing noise come from the rear left passenger side of the car. Very similiar sound to an aftermarket fuel pump.

Next morning, the car won't start, the battery is flat. I have tested the battery and alternator, those two are fine.

I also checked the reservior in the trunk, the liquid is between max and min.

Sometimes when driving, the tarmac/gravel/snow all 3 lights comes on. If I turn the car off for a couple of mins, it goes back to normal. But it does play up once in while.

I short pin no1 on the OBD port when car is stationary, only the tarmac light comes on, and I dont have any error code just now.

Well, I booked an inspection with mitsubishi/rallyart on monday, but I would like to hear from you guys first...

I seriously doubt these guys replaced my clutch did a good job, they could mess it up when changing the oil in transfer case and AYC, maybe they dont know how to bleed it right

and also if there is no error code, the mitsubishi/rallyart guys may just charge me AUD$110 for the inspection and being no help at all

they would simply recommend a ADC/AYC flush for AUD$600+

or a new pump for AUD$4000

but I hope I dont waste my $$$

My guess is that the pump has been working hard to reach the 1.6BAR pressure inside the AYC, and for some reason it wouldn't stop, then it just drain the battery...

Is it a pump failure, or bleeding is needed or something else?

any idea would be highly appreciated.

old topic i know but i may still be able to help

when i first bought my evo 7 i had a similar problem though not as severe as yours. my ayc pump was going non stop while driving. if you park it and leave the car on and kick the tyre the ayc pump went mental. the problem was the hydraulic fluid accumulator (the ball looking thing on the pump). it just wasnt holding any pressure.

anyway the fix was another ayc pump and i managed to get a low k's 2nd hand evo 8 one for NZ$500.

thx

thx for the replay.

My problem turn out to be a faulty relay. Once I have changed the relay, it is all good now.
