What website did you use to input those part numbers into and get a price for them?

The factory gears that Yogi mentioned will not fit 6-speed, but will fit all Evo 4-9 5-speed.

74 crownwheel teeth / 18 output shaft teeth = 4.111

Be interesting what they price up like.

I found those prices, 850 for the both of them, then you have to get them shipped to the U.S. thats gonna cost even more. So again your almost rigth there with a shep final drive assembly.

Dont know why you guys think these ratios are good. Look at Dave Buschurs latest project white. With the HP he is making he should be trapping 133-135. I think his best is 128-129 right now with that 4.11 he is using. too low guys. far less g-force.

Who cares what he traps, If I recall his motor was hurt as well. And we are very well aware that longer gears means slower acceleration. But its all irrelavent if your making 600+ whp.

hardly irrelevant. just a very poor choice for 95% of people considering the 4.11. daves car was not hurt. its running flawless.

Ok it was his RS sorry not the 2.3

Do you realize that trap speed is only off by a few mph? But et's are right on par with most of the other fp red 2.0 builds. Sometimes you have to give a little to get a little.

Again totally irrelavent if your talking about cars that are making over 600+ whp. An 800whp evo is going to accelerate violently in any gear even if its a 3.73 gearing.

And if the gearing isnt spot on with the 4.00 or 4.11 then all you need to do is adjust tire sizes. Its not a one thing cures all but its better than shifting into 5th and loosing 5-6 more mph and .05 et.

Its all irrelavent like I said.

MD748306 has superseded MD749217 (shaft)
MD770339 is still in the system.

Brand new from Mitsi is not cheap, looks like i'll end up getting an old legnum/galant box and pulling it apart.

https://www.evo-parts.co.uk/eshop/in...15aa43b8a707e8

http://www.mitsubishiparts.com/oe_parts_catalog.html lists the MD748306 @ $245.66USD. And the MD770339 doesn't come up in the search >.<

yes i bumped an old thread, OMG someone actually used the search function...

The final drive and gear ratios are probably going to be the next mod to consider. For those "street monster" stroker and 2.4 builds.

hells, i wouldnt mind some longer gears. since i idle over 1k, hitting 3k of the line even when taking it easy happens in a blink of an eye.

and truth stands; with 500whp+ car would still pull like beast with a 4.0 fdrive.

Oh definitely, with taller gears and final drive your taking advantage of the set up. A couple of years ago people that stroked there motor were using small or stock turbos, making <400hp/ 350 tq. It didn't make sense to address the gearing back then. Now people are using 35R variants on the regular, that changes the whole game.

I wonder if the added load from gearing effects the spool-up any.

It will require more pwr(tq/hp) from your set up... Which is'nt a problem for a stroker or 2.4L making over 450tq/ 500 whp...
