i was just thinking about doing a 6 speed swap in my 03 evo ..
i was just wondering how the guys like them all i do is auto cross and
ill have close to 400 to the wheels ive herd 6speeds are great for
autcross but i dont want to make a mistake by tradeing my 5speed so let me know guys thanks ...

 

if ur 5spd is good, id do a trade.

 

Well, lets put the cards on the table:

1) On a AutoX you wouldn't be using 4th 5th and 6th so the 6 speed tranny will benefit from its stronger 1 to 3rd gears.
2) The 6 speed transmission's shorter gears also will benefit from greater acceleration
3) The 6 speed transmission ultimately shifts smoother than the 5 speed transmission

I say yes, go for it. Remember, I have had two Evos, a 5 speed and a 6 speed.
