I can only get 1/2 lb.

I was supposed to go to the dyno tomorrow. I did a boost leak this evening to make sure everything was good, but I could only get about a 1/2 lb on my boost gauge (truboost) with about 28# out of my compressor. The engine was tdc and I did it from the inlet of the turbo. Everything was the same as I've always done it. There was enough flow to keep my compressor running for a while.

Well, all the air was coming out of my exhaust. I "plugged" the exhaust with a couple rags and the gauge got up to about .8 lbs. I saw a thread with basically the same symptoms a little while back but couldn't find it. So is it possible for my turbo to be leaking from the compressor to the hotside? It boosts great and hauls *** when the car is running. I haven't noticed any smoke out of my exhaust, but my windows are pretty dark. I've yet to pull any piping to see if there's any oil. As far as I know my car doesn't use a drop of oil (it never has before), but I'm going to keep an eye on it over the next several days.

Thanks.

Try turning the engine over one full time. I bet the cams have some valves open right now. (cams spin 1/2 as fast as crank) If you want to be sure, you can take off the upper timing cover and check the timing marks on the cam gears.

It was set to tdc using the marks on the valve cover. I've also done the test not at tdc and still got pressure.

Ill look into it a little more thoroughly though. Thanks.
