Yes, that is what I am to believe, also. I experienced the swap and frustration you guys speak of, except, my engine would not start at all. Before this, the information I gathered from these boards was that the engine would run without the correct code, but would shut off shortly after.

Install a fuel pressure gauge and watch if it drops before it dies. It sounds like it primes on start up but might not keep running as soon as you let off the starter. Relay issue? I'm not how the wiring swap goes but might be worth to check the pump relay.

eh. It idles for about five seconds and then dies. But, if you press the throttle and keep it around 3 to 4k it will stay running. It runs very sloppy, likes its missing and letting off the gas from there = instant death. Like said before, it ran fine in my viii

Thanks for the replies everyone.

I'll have to look over things closer and track down the problem, I need to check over the things mentioned. Fuel pressure, electrical/fuses/circuits/relays, and make sure I pull all the codes and check the immobilizer. I'll report back once I get her running. It won't be long.

Had a similar issue when I forgot to tell my tuner I had a JDM MAP sensor and he flashed the ECU with stock ROM. Doesn't sound like the issue, but just throwing it out there.

maybe the alternator? i know that if the alternator is bad the engine will shut off. maybe one of the connections to the alternator is not hooked up check fuses, relays etc. i think the 9 ecu has to have the acd with it. so did the motor come out of a 9 or 8? i dont think you can use a 9 motor with a 8 ecu.......

What a pain in the ***. One stupid plug I overlooked, the ignitor box or something? I really don't know what it's called that's what my buddy called it. Small silver box under the fuel relays and abs unit. whatever, I guess that's what I get for rushing.
