Broken transmission and cracked exhaust manifold, what to do?

Hey guys I get the feeling I'm kinda screwed at the moment, I mis-shifted 5th gear doing a pull the other day and now I have problems getting into and out of 5th and 6th gear. I took the car to Turbotrix Racing and had their transmission expert look at it, he says the problem is internal to the trans and while it is possible to build the 6 speed my best bet would be to go 5 speed asap. Any info on built 5 and 6 speeds would be awesome. He also pointed out that my exhaust manifold was cracked. I'm making mid 300whp, so this seems like it shouldn't be an issue at the moment. It's made by Ichiba, does anybody have experience with this company? I'm either going to buy a completely new one from another company if the response is negative or just port the stock one and call it a day. Thanks in advance guys.

P.S. 6-speed haters please try to restrain yourselves I'm looking for help here and having to search through responses that have nothing to do with said help is a pain.

get a ported stock exhaust manifold, your best option! and second, matters what the car is for, if you're just using it for daily driving with light racing/hard use, then just get a built 6 speed, but if going to beat on it and whatnot, then just go built 5 speed, it'll be stronger

At 300whp a stock ported and coated manifold will be just fine. Otherwise there are a few tubular manifolds that are really nice(Shearer, Full Race, etc...)

if youve been on evom at all you've seen cracked manifolds and broken 6 speeds. 2 fairly common problems (well cracked mani>trans)

unless you get a well built tubular manifold they will crack. get a ported stock manifold and you wont have to worry about it.

as for the trans. yea the 6speed isnt as strong as the 5. nothing new there. either have it built or find yourself a 5 speed. i would assume it would be cheaper to rebuild your current six speed than to buy a 5 speed with unknown issues, or to buy a built 5 speed. so unless you race a lot, stay with the 6 speed.

at that power level you need nothing else other than stock manifold and you could port it if you wanted, the tubular will do nothing for you it has been proven thrue testing over and over.
just build the 6 speed

Depending on how much you want to spend, you could send the 6 speed to TRE to get fixed. Jon also has an upgraded gearset coming out for the 6 speed too....that will be about $1500 on top of the repair costs. Jon stats that at that point the 6 speed should be close in strength to a built 5 speed.
