FP red porting

Im about to order my red middle next week. and i am wondering if it is worth the extra $90 to get it ported? I will be running a JMF O2 External dump and a stock exhaust mani(unported). I have all the other supporting mods to run this turbo. So should i get it ported or not?

Long answer....

It's going to push your shipping date back a HELL of a long time if you get it ported by FP.

hmmm. see i dont wanna wait that much longer. lol. i mean it is already like a 2 month wait. haha.. i think i will wait and then when i ship my intake mani, exhaust mani out i will ship my red out also to get ported. that might be the easier thing to do...anyone else hear about the boost creep issue if you dont port it?

BTW... Did you already order yours? If not, I have a source for a brand new one (It might be ported as well, I would have to check on that). Just a thought if you didn't want to wait 2 months.

IIRC FP doesn't do a very good porting job. I'd look for alternatives if you do.

It's a pain to pull off a turbo just to port it. Been there done that. Just get it ported now. Buschur's shop ported my Red and did a really nice job. Also, do the oil line the right way the first time. It's also a pain to swap once the turbo is installed.

Bob @ MAP is a fantastic porter and coater, and MAP is setup with FP...so order your Red through MAP and have Bob port it (ceramic coat too IMO) before shipping to you You should consider getting your exhaust manifold done too so you don't have to take it off again later on down the road.

Why would he have to "pull off the turbo" when its being shipped and he can ship off the hotside to be ported? Who said anything about installing it and pulling it off after the fact? Seems stupid to me...
