How To Prevent Cracking Aftermarket Exhaust Manifold From Cracking

I've bought a aftermarket exhaust manifold to match my gt3037r turbo ...
A lot of my friend's manifold tends to crack ... So how to prevent them from cracking ?
Wrapping them ?
Coating them ?
Or both ?

I'am based in Malaysia ... Even if the manufacture agreed to exchange a new manifold to me if it cracks, the shipping cost will kill me ....

get a gd quality one
u can get them from singapore
they provide warranty
so if anything happens
u still can go sg and exchange it
there are several tuning shop in sg
such as garage R etc etc...
but they certainly aint cheap
i suppose its better to coat them so as to reduce heat and the flow are more smooth
you can wrap it if u want
but get a professional to wrap it
or else it wont make any differences

Reinforce the welds inside and outside. I know there are loads of garages around Malaysia that can do this for you. I am using an aftermarket manifold that I have had for three years now. I got the welds reinforced and have had no problems of cracking.

Do not wrap the manifold, especially if the material is SUS304 stainless, because it will definitely crack. With today's technology, coating the manifold is by far the best means.

High temp coatings, like Jet-Hot or Swain can combat cracking as well.

+1 on the DO NOT wrap, it will cause excessive heat cycling and eventually crack the manifold faster, especially if any water/ rain is ever involved.

That is exactly what my mech told me ... heat + water/rain is bad ...
Thats why i was thinking of wrapping the manifold to shield it from water ...
Now i'm torn between wrapping it or coating it .... In Malaysia ... the coating technology is not that advanced ... My friend's manifold coating already started to peal off ...

As for support ... my mech will make a support bracket to help the load from the turbo ...

Custom made with thick steel doesn't say much. who's the maker? Did they tell you what type stainless they made it from? Anyway, def do not wrap it. You could make brackets to help anchor and hold it up, as the other poster said

+2 on not wrapping. Good for racing, not for the street. Coating isnt a bad idea, but you should send it to somewhere in the US, Japan, or Australia to have it done.
