Timing map is fine bcuz what the guy didn't tell me was that it happens in various RPM bands (not just at 5,500-6,000 RPM). Dooooooh! I hate that when I don't get the full info. I am leaning towards the spark plugs, and the fuel pump is probably a distant second place as for what the cause of the problem is.

We do not have the NGK BPR7 plugs here in bahrain. I looked at the spark plug cross ref for BPR7, but it did not come up. there is a BPR7HS... Is this the one? I suppose we could try the Denso W22FPR-U or the Bosch W7RBC. Anyway, hopefully the plugs will solve it. The fuel pump... man... it's not a track machine or anything, and I am led to believe that the stock fuel pump is not being overly taxed. Boost is stock. Anyway, I'll keep you all posted

Man... finally U and I agree on something, but I will try anything as long as it is rational. It's cheaper to replace spark plugs versus a fuel pump.

I'm almost certain it's your plugs, that's where most timing maps get more aggressive and plugs that are fouled will just studder, hiccup, or my fav gun shots..."bup bup bpprrupp pap"

Heheheheheh... Yeah, I wish it made that sound, but it just doesn't make a sound. It just feels like someone is strangling it, with the occasional fart of a backfire.

Ambient air temps... the average here is now 28 degrees C with highs of 32 degrees C in the heat of the day. I suppose it is like AZ NM or TX this time of year. This isn't too high... just looking at all things that can aid in aggravating the system.

Neither... it's not part of the pack here in bahrain. This car is a basic with just bolt-ons, stock boost and the EMS has not been tampered with. Yes, anytime mods are done, one should datalog it to check the differences as I have been told, especially with EVO, but as I stated last night, the hiccups occur randomly and it could be at any RPM, so I am leaning towards the timing map not being the culprit, but simply the plugs and maybe a distant second for the fuel pump.

We were just talking about that, and I am recommending it because here in the Gulf region of the Middle East, the temps can get as high as 60 degrees Celsius in the summer. It's hot enough for the birds to not fly and the cats are too busy trying to keep cool and not attack them. Everybody is heat-soaked literally.

I know the feeling, we get heat and humidity. Meth keeps the car feeling the same 24hrs a day, and if you have only lesser octanes like 91 100% bumps your octane level to approx 94/95oct with a slow burn. Only issue you may have is sourcing the methanol

dtuned pass by Max Boost on Dimstan road, Shaker is great some how most of the evos on the island end up there and they all walk out with a big smile. let him have a say.

Regarding Meth here in Bahrain it’s very hard to source from time to time but worth it if your keeping your stock turbo, one of my friends is running it on his 7 with a 9 turbo and she is a blast..

Meth is a common ingredient in winshield washer fluid. It's a 50%/50% mix in most brands. I don't know about the bug remover though. They sell windshield washer fluid here in bahrain
