Well the fact that your car is blowing smoke out the tail pipe is not a good thing....Do a compression and leak down test....Also, did you confirm that the pop you heard was not one of your intake pipes popping off? That would explain how all of a sudden your boost dropped....

They don't seem to show any catastrophic signs. I'd throw a new set in if they are more than 2 months old.

Its possible that you preaurized the crank case and you got oil pased the compression rings into the combustion chambers.

Basically you got the plugs wet even tho you don't see it they got contaminated with oil at one point.

If you ever install an oil catch can wrong or if you make one with the wrong size breather you will basically cause the same issue.

Assuming that you installed the Pcv valve and the breather hose back to a large enough vacum source on the intake. You should be fine.

What is happening is that you have oil contaminating your combustion chamber just drive your car around off boost. Make sure you don't load the motor too much. Other wise the oil in there will make the engine knock.

You should be fine you don't have any signs of a blown head gasket this is just oil in the chambers. Drive around for about 10 miles off boost completely do not for anything load the motor. Then install a new set of plugs you should be fine.

I'm calling this a false alarm from 1,500 away lol. Seriously its gotta be just a little oil in there. Your head gasket would have shown in the plugs.

this might sound weird, but when i blew the head gasket in my 3g eclipse.... tthe exaust smelled like tear gas..( if you are a cop or in the military you know what that smells like)..but it never blew smoke but my plugs looked like yours... turned out to be just a little spit in the gasket.. and it burnt coolant.
